About Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu® is a simple way of taking care of and understanding one’s body. It is a way of listening and reading the body and the energy which flows though it. When our circulation becomes blocked due to stress, illness, or overuse, we experience discomfort and pain. By simply holding areas of the body, we can help restore ourselves; Jin Shin Jyutsu gives us the agency for our own healing, to process, to let go of that which ails us, to rebuild, and start anew.
The hands or fingertips are used as "jumper cables" to help redirect or unblock energy flow along its pathways. This gentle application of the hands to help balance the body's energy is a useful compliment to conventional healing methods as it promotes relaxation and takes the "edge" off of stressful situations including worry, fear, anger, grief, and trying.
I offer Jin Shin Jyutsu through individualized sessions and by teaching self-help practices. A typical session with me lasts about an hour where my client relaxes on a massage table and I hold areas of the body (over clothing) to help restore energy circulation. Through this process my clients often experience deep relaxation and a renewal of her/his physical and emotional states. I offer self-help practices to help further and maintain this balance.
